This is the Tiger mechanism. What can I say?
|
 |
This is Westfield's remote. Such a good design as it has no play and
basically acts like the Sierra selector just a bit longer.

 |
I had to grind a little off the bar that the Tiger remote was fixed
to to give the Westfield remote room to move around. Fixing it into
position was easy as long as you remember to remove the plastic selector
from the gearbox first and fit it to the Westfield one.

 |
You must remove this small plastic bit from the Sierra gearbox before
attempting to insert the Westfield remote. This plastic bit fits onto
the remote in the same maner and reduces the play in the shift.

Disaster struck!! After I'd put the car's interior back together gears
1/3/5/reverse became unselectable! So I dismantled everything to find
this as the culprit! As can been seen the metal bushe has come out of
the tube thus preventing the remote from sliding forward. I'll contact
Westfield tomorrow and see what they say as the bushe is twisted and
cannot go back into the tube.

All is now well and the remote's in and working fine. I think I'll have
to create a quick-shifter though, as I'd prefur a shorter throw on the
lever. Left is a pic of the plastic selector bit that goes on the shaft.
