First thing to do was to play with Tiger Tool number 2 (grinder) to remove the bits that
stuck out the sides. It's been ages since I last used Tiger Tool 2!!

Next some bridging compound was used to fill the holes in. I used "David's" P40. It's
basically filler with fibre-glass pieces in it.

 |
After removing any excess P40 the next thing to go on was the filler. I used "David's" P38
which will hopefully leave a nice smooth surface once sanded down.

 |
Once the filler had dried I sanded it down using progressivly finer grit paper and finishing
off with 1000 grit wet'n'dry paper. The photo doesn't really show it, but the surface was
really smooth.

Here's the final result after painting which I'm pretty pleased with as you'd never know
there were any holes there in the first place.
